At CentrePort, we know opportunity when we see it.  Strategically placed at the centre of New Zealand, we are a key player in facilitating economic growth through safe and efficient movement of cargo and providing supply chain solutions and expertise.  As one of Wellington’s most diverse businesses CentrePort is a strong contributor to the Wellington region including a dynamic asset portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure & Environment, the Asset Manager will provide hands on technical and people leadership vital to ensuring CentrePort’s assets are fit for purpose.  This dynamic role requires a talented and experienced professional who will provide asset management direction to business units and ensure stakeholder expectations are carried out.  You will enjoy a wide variety of work involving buildings, wharves, pavements, structures, underground services and other Port infrastructure to ensure that the Asset Management Plan delivers as required.To succeed in this role, it is essential that your natural style is to lead by example, delivering high quality work and managing business relationships.  Suitable candidates will hold a tertiary level qualification in Civil/Structural/Port Engineering.In addition to your technical and professional qualifications, you will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:proven track record of asset managementability to manage complex situations with competing prioritiesdemonstrated experience in asset inspection, management and asset assuranceability to communicate technical issues to non-technical professionalscommercially minded with ability to manage budgets and achieve value outcomesa working knowledge of Port related structures and infrastructure would be highly valued.If you can clearly demonstrate relevant skills and experience and are keen to discuss an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative team where your work will impact positively to the business, then we would like to her from you.Please note: CentrePort is an alcohol and drug free workplace.  Pre-employment testing is part of our recruitment process.
