Strategically placed at the centre of New Zealand, we are a key player in facilitating economic growth through safe and efficient movement of cargo and providing supply chain solutions and expertise.A new, exciting opportunity has become available within our Infrastructure and Environment Team.  The Team is responsible for the planning, management and maintenance of the physical infrastructure of the Port and lead the Company’s environmental programme during an exciting time of business regeneration.  The successful applicant will be involved in the management of environmental risks of day to day port operations, as well as various projects as part of the port regeneration programme.We are looking for a tertiary qualified Environmental Technician in the early stages of their career ready to move onto their next challenge in a dynamic environment.  You will be responsible for assisting the management of environmental risks and monitoring compliance to ensure best practice standards are met and delivered.  You will play a key role in developing information and supporting systems, undertaking environmental investigations and introducing new initiatives.We are keen to hear from environmental professionals who have a strong interest in coastal issues and the skills to make a difference in a commercial setting.  You will be aware of environmental policy and practices, and have experience in environmental monitoring, field work, interpreting results and a good understanding of developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems.  Your knowledge and background of Maori cultural perspectives and tangata whenua values and/or coastal management will be valuable but not essential as you will supported in your development.We at CentrePort stand by our organisational values so we would like you to be on board with us.  You will have a strong interest in safety and have the resilience to work in a challenging environment where no two days are the same.  Your ability to work collaboratively with varied teams, influence and engage with stakeholders are critical to succeed in this role.  You will have demonstrated passion to be challenged and have the drive to continuous improvement.If you believe that you have what it takes and would like to be part of a high performing team, then send us your CV and cover letter outlining how your experience, skills and values are aligned with the specifics in the Position Description.Applications close Monday, 09 September 2019.Environmental Technician Position Description AUD Wellington 6011
